Just had a journal rejection on a paper assessing nutrient intake on moderately low carb diets for children. Waited 4 months. Reviewer 1 was employed by General Mills! Reviewer 2 promotes juice consumption to increase fruit and veg intake! Seriously? 😬

Keto and PCOS - second published study ever. Nice to see that science is catching up to what we've been seeing in practice for years.

Forget the ultraprocessed food and tons of sugar, it’s the eggs that’ll kill you! I can’t believe we’re back to this drivel... really? 🤦‍♀️

One of my favourite graphs - it says a lot about ketones, the poor misunderstood fuel source that is not only safe, but essential for brain development. After only 2 hours without food, newborns and infants default into nutritional ketosis!

    A picture is worth a thousand words! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/35537861/ Dose-dependent effect of carbohydrate restriction on HbA1c (%) in patients with type 2 diabetes at the 6-month follow-up (n = 29 trials). #carbohydraterestriction #LCHF

To all Registered Dietitians: Your registration and practising certificates should NOT be in jeopardy based on your #LCHF practice with T2D. It's now part of mainstream nutrition therapy #bestpractice @AmDiabetesAssn @DietitiansNZ @DAA_feed care.diabetesjournals.org/content/diacar…

Vegan diet danger for infants, yet often supported by dietary organisations. Meanwhile @ProfTimNoakes gets in trouble for suggesting nutrient-rich LCHF first foods. A serious disconnect! newshub.co.nz/home/world/201…

Sugar AND starch both matter. Rotting teeth: White bread, rice, noodles. The latest culprits to tooth decay.

A refreshing read!! The study shows countries with the greater meat intake have greater life expectancy and lower child mortality. The relationship is independent of the caloric intake, SE status , obesity, urbanisation (lifestyle) and education. ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/P…

Auckland hospital don’t serve cream in coffee at their cafe due to their “no cream on premesis” hospital policy. Sugar? No problem, how much would you like?

NZ boys boarding school -Dilworth - still committed to LCHF after 2 years. School invests and puts entire kitchen staff (chefs &kitchen hands) from 3 campuses through my full day LCHF workshop. Win 👍🏻

So wrong. The fallout of workplace bullying of orthopaedic surgeon for being an LCHF advocate. Silenced for trying to save diabetes patients from losing limbs by removing sugar because he’s “not nutrition qualified”. Serious loss of perspective in this world!
No more. When workplace bullying affects my patient care - enough is enough. It's time to call out the bullies & the problems in our 'not so healthy' system. isupportgary.com/articles/enoug…
