I have a weird theory.
Dunbar's number suggests human beings only have mental space for meaningful connection with 150 people. When fictional characters are *constantly* pushed on people is it unreasonable to assume people start to *add* them to that 150? #Fandom
I think fandoms have gotten so insanely toxic and problematic recently for a couple reasons.
People have deluded themselves into believing fiction is reality and actions that fictional characters take that aren’t 100% squeaky clean is inherently problematic and repulsive.-
