- Canyon ISD is excited to announce Eric Gomez as the principal for West Plains High School. Mr. Gomez is currently at Canyon High School as an Assistant Principal. The campus will open in the fall of 2022.
- CISD’s first priority is the health and safety of the community. The District has decided to close school for students, March 23-27 and staff will report to work. We will continue to update our website as we receive information.
- Due to the continued high demands for energy consumption across the state, Canyon ISD will cancel school on Thursday, February 18, 2021 and Friday, February 19, 2021. This decision comes after further discussions today with local utility providers.
- Canyon ISD will cancel school tomorrow on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 due to the potential for rolling blackouts and the request from the energy companies to conserve power.
- Due to the continued high demands for energy consumption across the state and ongoing outages in our community, Canyon ISD will cancel school on Wednesday, February 17, 2021.
- Texas Governor Abbott released the mask mandate for businesses starting March 10. CISD is awaiting guidance from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) in how to proceed in the school system. As information becomes available from TEA, we will release it to our parents and community.
- Parents, be expecting a call from your student’s teacher on Monday. They are missing their students and are ready to get a plan for school@home! Please share and ask parents to "follow" their campus page. We will be here to support you through this time.
- Look at who is helping to serve our students at Canyon JH and on the "Meals on the Move" buses. Thank you!!!
- The start time for Canyon ISD campuses will be delayed 2 hours on Tuesday, October 27th. Bus routes will also be delayed 2 hours. Traffic will be slower so allow for extra time!
- Canyon ISD is closely watching for the development of snow tonight. Personnel will be driving roads and checking weather conditions at 4:00am. District staff will participate in a 5:00am conference call with the National Weather Service.
- Canyon ISD is honored to announce the principal for Heritage Hills Elementary. Tina Finke was selected as the principal. Congratulations!
- Canyon ISD will be closed today, January 24, due to inclement weather.
