BREAKING: The anti-Catholic march due to pass St Alphonsus and St Mary's on Easter Sunday has been re-routed. The march will no longer pass any Catholic churches. Thank you to all those who raised objections!

Catholics are now being prevented from approaching St Alphonsus for 12 Mass by a group of anti-Catholic bigots. The police have no safe plan in place to allow them to get to Mass. The priest was delayed in getting to the church. This is life in Scotland for Catholics today.

We are horrified - but not surprised - at the assault by two uniformed men from the 'Drumchapel Protestant Boys' Orange Flute Band on a young woman trying tocross the road on Saturday am in Glasgow. We assume this will be investigated by @PoliceScotland and the culprits charged.

We have been informed that BBC Scotland do not want to speak to our Chair as they have decided to talk to Show Racism the Red Card and a reporter. The Irish community have been attacked but lets talk about this without them in the room.

We stand by James McClean, who has endured anti-Irish racism for far too long without condemnation from the authorities, and without any action being taken. We are prepared to #callitout.

We note that the Apprentice Boys of Derry have cancelled their planned march on Easter Sunday after @GlasgowCC re-routed it away from Catholic churches. This underlines what we have always said: these marches are anti-Catholic and the purpose of them is to intimidate Catholics.

BREAKING: Glasgow Sheriff Court has upheld @GlasgowCC's decision to re-route four anti-Catholic marches away from St Alphonsus church this weekend. The court ruled that the council was acting within its powers. Thank you to all of you who have supported us - this is progress! 💪

    1. Today Glasgow’s Irish Catholic community and other principled anti-racists successfully forced an anti-Catholic march to be rerouted away from St Alphonsus Church. This is a massive victory against those who have sought to intimidate and harass our community for much too long.

In the last 10 days we have seen vandalism of a Catholic cemetery in Glasgow, anti-Catholic graffiti on a bus stop outside a Catholic Church in Lanarkshire and now an act of desecration of a Catholic Church in the West End of Glasgow. Please stand with us in challenging this!

Anyone able to spot the difference? Time to #callitout

We are sorry to say that there will be a procession of anti-Catholic marchers past St Alphonsus RC Church on London Road on Sunday 27 March (next Sunday) just after 10am. We call on our community and on all progressive people to join us in silent protest in opposition. RT please

We are delighted to say that the 4 marches in less than 24 hours due to take place on 1st and 2nd June are now going to be re-routed. Our deepest thanks go to everyone who has supported the protests. Your actions have been successful in showing @GlasgowCC that things must change.

📢 It's hard to describe how important these words from Cabinet Secretary @HumzaYousaf are. We have strongly campaigned for everyone to call out anti-Catholic bigotry and anti-Irish racism. Finally, there are signs that it is happening. And it's a huge moment for our community.

Two days in a row we have banner headlines in broadsheets attacking Catholic schools and accusing them of fomenting anti-Protestant bigotry. This follows weeks of Orange Order/loyalist bigoted violence. Does anyone have any doubt that Scotland is still an anti-Catholic country?
