In their defence, they probably weren’t given much of a choice in having to make the list, and they certainly were not given enough time to do a proper job of it. Let’s stop blaming the middle man, this is all on Elon.
The funny thing about the levels interview (and the conversation any time he comes up) is everyone is split between “this is the way to ship, his MRR prove it”, and “this is the worst way” when the reality is, like always, that context matters a lot.

I am firmly of the opinion that pair programming is the best way to interview for software engineering positions. No quiz, no riddles, I want to see what it’s like to work together, when you ask questions, when you don’t, and how you handle feedback throughout. That’s all.
