  • Thinking of this legend today - the superstar mother, wife, sister, daughter, journalist, colleague and wonderful friend Keelin Shanley. She slipped away this day last year, but is held as tightly as always in our hearts and minds.
  • The embassy move was announced in Oct 2008 (by the Bush administration), Obama was not elected until Nov 2008.
Reason I canceled my trip to London is that I am not a big fan of the Obama Administration having sold perhaps the best located and finest embassy in London for “peanuts,” only to build a new one in an off location for 1.2 billion dollars. Bad deal. Wanted me to cut ribbon-NO!
  • As we celebrate #IWD2020 without one powerhouse, my lovely friend, the fabulous Keelin Shanley, who died one month ago today, I want to say a massive thank you to all the @rtenews #SixOne viewers who have sent me messages of condolences, sympathy cards, poems & letters.Thank you.
  • What a lovely sign-off from Eileen Dunne who just presented her final ⁦⁦@rtenews⁩ programme tonight as she retires after 42 years at @rte. Eileen is a warm and generous colleague and a real lady who’ll be missed around the newsroom. #rtenews #eileendunne
  • Thinking of this legend today. Three years gone already. Always missed. Always loved. #KeelinShanley @rtenews

For a couple of months before she died, Keelin Shanley was writing this book. It mattered so much to Keelin that people would read about her life, about living with cancer and could share her stories. It’s out Oct 2nd. Please do put it on your reading list if you can.
In the last few months before she sadly passed away in February this year, Keelin Shanley was writing a memoir, 'A Light That Never Goes Out', which we are honoured to publish on 2nd October. Read more here: bit.ly/ALightThatNeve… #ALightThatNeverGoesOut
