Alberta is a case study on "why we need to keep teaching critical thinking skills in school.

- Youth are not staying in Calgary, but we need them to. The question: How do we make Calgary attractive to young people? IMO, the answer isn’t Rodeo.
- If you stand for, beside, or in defense of people waving Swastikas, Confederate Flags, secessionist flags and spewing far right extremist views - you're either being used or you believe it There is no nuance in hate.
- What concerns me most about the protests in the inner city, and elsewhere, is the blatant disregard for others. People from around Calgary have deadlocked downtown neighbourhoods, impacting businesses, denying access to health care - in the name of freedom. 1/5
- As a child of a single mother: $10 a day childcare would be life saving.
- Will you fire Chris Champion now? @jkenney
- Today I was honoured to find out that I won the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence - Leadership on Social Issues Achievement. Every day I remind myself how I got where I am today: my students inspired me. I hope I inspired them. That would be enough.
- Replying to @CWalcottYYCP.s. important to note that many of the protestors are just far-right people who have made it clear they're only there because they hate Trudeau, they hate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and these protests are just an opportunity to reinforce beliefs of supremacy.
- Replying to @CWalcottYYCBut freedom in our society exists in the social contract we uphold with eachother. Protestors across this nation are too tied to an American concept of inalienable freedoms. These protestors want to live unimpeded by the responsibility to care for others. 2/5
- I don't know a single marginalized or racialized person who hasn't been taught this lesson: "If you want to succeed in this world, you'll have to do twice as much for half as much, and they'll still try and take it from you." But we just keep working, don't we?
- Today we will start the important work of building Calgary for the future together. I am excited to lead this work as your Ward 8 City Councillor. #yyc #yyccc courtneywalcott.com/thank_you
- I’m getting vaccinated as soon as possible. My class sizes are 35+ in one room. But I won’t celebrate the government. I’m past that. I’m just trying to get these students through with a decent education They put everything on our shoulders I’m tired. And I’m getting the shot
