Over 25 mins in the line for a prior authorization for ZOFRAN for a patient with head and neck cancer on chemoradiation. Earlier today I was on the line for prior authorization for fluconazole. I did NOT go to medschool for this. This is beyond tedious and unsustainable 😰

Another day, another fight w/ insurance @Aetna denied the chemo for my young pt despite him responding Had to tell him “I don’t know how you sleep at night I hope if a family member of yours ever has cancer they don’t go through someone like you to receive care” I HATE this

My dream job 🩺🧬 🫁 As a fellow in NYC I would spend hours on Zillow looking at houses in Coral Gables dreaming of living here and working at UMiami. What I thought was only a dream at the time has become my reality. I I am never taking one second of this life for granted 🩷

I became a mom in fellowship, & many people told me I shouldn't do it. To anyone being told they have to put their parenting plans on hold until training is done, don't listen. This narrative is not helpful. We need more representation of parents in training & more support.

I’m an oncologist💥This journey has officially come full circle. What a wild ride: from saying goodbye to my precious 🇵🇷, to finding and marrying my best friend, meeting lifelong colleagues, mentors, and friends, to having the happiest little baby. I’m so grateful! #pgydone
