    Last week our very own Chris Dicomidis (WRU Rugby Hub Officer at CCYD) collected a very prestigious award, the “Diolch Award” for contribution to the male rugby game. Chris has been an inspiration to our young learners and we are very proud he's part of the school rugby setup.

    CCYD Pupils are supporting the Wales Rugby team again by watching the Rugby World Cup on displays throughout the school. Its important that our learners engage in national sporting activities as we are 'Proud to be Welsh'.

    A huge congratulations to CCYD learner Nia Lewis who has been selected to represent Boys and Girls club of Wales under 15s football squad in their upcoming fixture against America. The squad will travel to America on the 17th November.

    Ex - CCYD Head Boy Iwan James had his first news article published within his 1st year of University studying journalism. Iwan reported on a story of neighbours coming together for a game of bingo in Ogmore Vale organised by Scott Harris raising over £2000 for the NHS.

    Jess Evans, a learner at CCYD, ran in the Welsh Cross Country Championships in Pembrey on the weekend and came 1st making her the U15 cross country champion for 2020. She has now qualified from this race to run for Wales in the London mini marathon in April.  Well done Jess.

    CCYD Learner Evyn Williams swam 22 miles (english channel) to raise money for diabetes uk. He raised £100 in total. His challenge was set over 12weeks. Well Done Evyn, CCYD are so proud of you for showing determination and resilience.
