    CCPS is mourning the loss of @StCharlesHS's Cpl. Mann, who passed away last night. More than a police officer, Cpl. Mann taught classes, mentored students & helped with youth summer camps. Please keep Cpl. Mann and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

    Due to inclement weather, all Charles County public schools are closed Monday, Jan. 14, 2019. There is a Code 2 for employees who follow the code system. Employees should check later tonight or tomorrow morning for a possible change in the Code status.

    Our thoughts are with our neighbors at Great Mills High School. St. Mary's Sheriff's Office & other law enforcement agencies are at GMHS investigating a shooting that injured three people, according to news reports. We have no further information at this time.

    A candlelight vigil in memory of Zeyneb Mourtaj will be held 7 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 9 at Benjamin Stoddert Middle School. Mourtaj, a North Point High School freshman, passed away Dec. 31 in a vehicle crash. Stoddert is at 2040 St. Thomas Drive in Waldorf.
