- Eligible claimants who previously exhausted PUA or PEUC may receive an additional 11 weeks of benefits starting 12/27/2020. EDD will automatically recalculate and notify claimants through UI Online, mail or text message when they are able to certify for their next payment.

- IRS announced that the first $10,200 of unemployment compensation paid in 2020 are nontaxable. Already filed your 2020 tax return? Do not file an amended return, IRS will automatically refund money to those who filed before the recent changes made by the American Rescue Plan.
- PUA and PEUC claimants who had a balance remaining when the CARES Act expired on December 26, 2020 don't need to reopen a claim. EDD will recalculate and alert you when weeks are available to certify for up to 11 weeks of additional unemployment benefits.
- Today through April 17, EDD will be phasing in #PEUC benefits for approximately 700K #Californians who exhausted all their benefits. This means eligible claimants who exhausted PEUC benefits and have been waiting for additional weeks, will be able to certify for benefits
- For weeks of unemployment between December 27, 2020, and September 4, 2021, EDD will automatically add $300 in federal unemployment compensation on top of your current weekly benefit amount. You do not need to do anything.
- An additional $300 in Pandemic Additional Compensation (PAC) is added for weeks of unemployment between December 27, 2020 and September 4, 2021. PAC payments are automatically added to each week of benefits that you are eligible to receive. You do not need to do anything.
- From January 6 - January 14, ID verification messages are going out to suspended claimants. Watch your email for further instructions on how to verify your identity. Continue to certify for benefit weeks available while your verification issue is being resolved.
- Starting September 7, 2020, if you have a weekly benefit award of $100 or more and indicated you're unemployed due to #COVID19, you'll receive an additional $300 per week automatically under the Lost Wages Assistance (LWA) program. For more details, visit:
