⛔️ Today Ratcliffe-on-Soar, the last coal-fired power station in Britain, shuts down: The symbolic end of the carbon age after more than 200 years. Its majestic 375ft cooling towers are the Avebury or Stonehenge of the 20th century, yet only 45 towers remain across the country,

C20 is urgently querying the status of the tiled maze mural at Warren Street Underground Station with @TfL, following images its removal over the weekend. Designed by Crosby/Fletcher/Forbes (1969-71), this is one of 16 tiled motifs on the Victoria Line - one at each station.

Demolition beckons for the fine, modernist French Railways House on Piccadilly (1960-62). Designed by Shaw & Lloyd with signage by Ernő Goldfinger and interiors by Charlotte Perriand, this could so easily have been upgraded for modern office use. Wasteful and wholly unnecessary.
French Railway House in its funeral shroud. Utterly disgraceful to demolish such a distinguished building.
