My column for @TBNSports on a Buffalo legend: Rick Jeanneret was more than worthy as our voice for all time.
Some stories from life on the road with RJ and advice to the #Sabres: Give the man a statue.
Booger McFarland on ESPN: "Nobody is concerned about football right now. America is concerned about one thing: The health and safety of this young man." Says flatly this game should be over. Amen.
A quick Michigan-Ohio State thought: FOX really needed a far more muted presentation of Urban Meyer. Seriously.....Gus Johnson saying there aren't many men like him, the whole crew talking about "all the things he's gone through"....Just a really tone-deaf, bad look all around.
BREAKING: It is my sad duty to report that Hall of Fame broadcaster Rick Jeanneret, the legendary play-by-play man of the #Sabres, has died this evening. The team has confirmed the news.
Cozens on his hit on Matthews: "Just seeing what he did to (Dahlin), it was a really dirty crosscheck and a dangerous cross check. So I decided to go out there and finish my check on him. And obviously a couple of guys didn't like that. But I'd do it again if I had to. " (1/3)
Obviously I've been knee deep in writing RJ stuff and still am. But the fans should be saluted. How sad a night this would have been in a 1/2-empty building. To see you fill the house and cheer for RJ -- and the team -- like this, it feels like the old days. More, please. #Sabres
Man, McDermott nailed this. The pass to Williams and then calls timeout for a curtain call on last defensive series. A coach who really understood the moment. Bravo, Kyle Williams. A warrior. #Bills
Last I had heard on #Bills was a 29-21 hole. #Sabres game was getting to the buzzer so finishing story had my full attention. Didn’t know what was up until I heard roar from back area of dressing room.
Folks, your hockey team is fully invested in your football team.
