It should be mandatory that every high school coach must go to at least 1 live college game at each level The amount of disrespect from some high school coaches I’ve had is unbelievable Please explain how ur guy is “too good” for D3, w no interest in March of his senior year- People can say “coaches win off whoever has the better players” but being able to execute all of these special situations, and everyone being prepared for the moment is a pure reflection of Coach K’s leadership. Great Game & execution by Duke!
- *Takes an entire basketball team to the same hotel for 3 days for over $4,000* Me: Hi could we use your conference room to watch film? Hotel: yes! That will be $250 for 30 min but $300 for the hour! Me: we will just jam 22 people in 1 room. Thanks anyway
- If anyone thinks once coach is better than another simply because they are a college coach, you are sadly mistaken... I’ve been able to learn so much from high school coaches while recruiting and watching their practices. Always a Student of the Game!

- The # 1 lost skill in the game of basketball... DIVING ON THE FLOOR FOR A LOOSE BALL!!! When I’m recruiting & see a kid get on the floor, 100% of the time I find out who that kid is.
- I frequently write college coaches letters. Seldomly do I ever get a response. When I was coaching JuCo, Huggs was the only Head Coach to ever right back to me. They try to kick you while you’re down. We all make mistakes but I appreciate Huggs & his grind for the game

He was first in line for every drill. He played hard, & if his teammates didn’t, he was all over them. Great leaders set the tone for how the rest of the team acts. Lead with high standards.
