- "the creator shouldnt do this" imagine being at a book signing, a passionate fan tells you about how much they love one of your characters, and "ship" themselves with them. then they ask if it's "canon." you dont want to see this adoring fan's smile drop from their face.

- Replying to @BugaferJonesthe post implies that the double was face to face with the author. imagine having to directly and awkwardly tell someone that it's not canon, and watch the light fade from their eyes. they'd leave your signing with disappointment, and they might even come out of it less of a fan!
