Hey everyone! I’m back with a huge surprise: introducing the 10-nanosecond deserializer! Considering my CPU runs at about 0.2 nanoseconds per cycle, I'm finally pushing this CPU to its limits. Makes you wonder. How close are we to the true performance ceiling?

Today I helped an old lady. Her scootmobile died on a cycling path. She had no phone & begged for help for 10 mins, nobody stopped. I called her retirement home & waited 45 mins until they came. She kept apologizing for being a burden. She wasn’t. Shame on those who walked by.

Huge computer science result: A Tsinghua professor JUST discovered the fastest shortest path algorithm for graphs in 40yrs. This improves on Turing award winner Tarjan’s O(m + nlogn) with Dijkstra’s, something every Computer Science student learns in college.

A very interesting article of how someone fixed GTA V loading times by fixing their JSON deserializer. He improved speeds by 70%, and got awarded 10k from Rockstar, and Rockstar actually implemented his fix in an update! Cool story :) nee.lv/2021/02/28/How…

Finished version 1.0 of my Low latency UDP client made in DPDK. got nice improvements in the ping pong messages :) around 50 micro lower median & means. orange line is python udp client, blue is dpdk udp client

Had the perfect internship meeting today, I sold them, they liked me, I liked them. 5 months of real impact ahead. But my study program forbids internships >3 months. Firm wants 5 (understandably). So now it’s: Firm ✅ Me ✅ Bureaucrats ❌ this is why EU talent gets stuck
