- We are deeply saddened to hear the news of Professor J. Philip Grime’s passing. He was one of the world's most influential plant ecologists and an Honorary member of the BES. Our deepest condolences go out to his family and friends.
- Researchers at @uniovi_info are encouraging farmers who grow apples to abandon chemical pesticides and put birdboxes in orchards. They found that birds nesting in the boxes capture large quantities of insects to feed their chicks, reducing insect pests in orchards.
