Personal news for you tonight: Today is my last day in the @Missourinet newsroom. As some lawmakers know, I have struggled to battle both diabetes and vertigo, which has been very hard. An opportunity has come up to allow me to work better hours, and try to get healthy again.

Senator @HawleyMO tells me the bill, as written, would provide $1,200 in direct assistance to individuals (phased out for those with higher incomes) and $500 for every child. He also emphasizes that it triples unemployment insurance available to Missourians. He wants vote now.
UPDATE: I just interviewed Missouri Senator @HawleyMO (R), who is hopeful the Senate will vote on the $2 trillion economic stimulus package today. He says it should have been voted on earlier, saying Democrats "threw up roadblocks." Negotiations continue on the Hill.
