- Moving my daughter into college and look who I ran into. Nothing gives greater pride than watching your trainees successful. Congrats to KP and Charlene for being huge successes in their interventional cardiology fellowships. Of course what happened to wearing stethoscopes??? 😂
- Thought I’d share the incredible news. After insane hard work in high school, my daughter Katie just got into her dream college - Vanderbilt. I know she’ll get an incredible education as she’s on the pre-med track. So proud of her and love watching her career begin.
- I want to congratulate Carlos, our new CV fellow at Mayo FL, for this tremendous accomplishment. He is already demonstrating a love and affinity for leadership and I know he’ll be tremendously successful with this new position at the ACC.
- Want to formally welcome Nahyr, Carlos, and Rashid to the CV fellowship at Mayo Jacksonville. We hit the jackpot yesterday with 3 extraordinarily talented individuals. Couldn’t be more thrilled. Congrats team!!!

- My 17-year-old daughter Katie already publishing more papers than I am. Great event at the Mayo science fair. Has done 2 summers in the lab doing myocarditis research. A budding cardiologist!!!
- No words to express my pride and honor to observe Mayo trainees’ success at ACC. Just a few pics of our immense presence in New Orleans. Will go down as my favorite ACC ever. Congrats to the future leaders of our great field. The future is immensely bright!!!
- First day of our new fellow run cardiology clinic at Volunteers in Medicine. Great facility caring for uninsured patients.
- Our invited guest, Dr. Sanjum Sethi from Columbia U provided some incredible info for the fellows yesterday about navigating the job market, following your passions, and making a great career trajectory. Thanks for a wonderful experience!
- Always so proud of our CV fellows. Beyond excited for Sam Espinosa to continue her training at Brigham’s interventional fellowship. She is going to train with some of the best mentors and docs around. Congrats Sam!!!
- Hard to believe I already have a son in college. Just dropped him off at beautiful Tucson, AZ. Couldn’t be more proud or excited. Education brings so much happiness and fulfillment. Wishing I could be in his shoes again.
- So proud of my 17 YO daughter Katie! Spent the summer doing CV research (particularly 3D and strain echo) on a myocarditis animal model. Budding cardiologist??? Can never start too early.
