Congrats to all involved for direct clash between AIL semis and ASM v Leinster - perfect illustration of mismanagement of our club game

The @terenurerugby and @ClontarfRugby crowd at Aviva yesterday was a fitting tribute to a top quality AIL season. It's uplifting to see the resilience of Ireland's club community at first hand. Savage stuff

Match officials bailed out of jail by the Lord Mayor of Skerries...epic stuff from all concerned. Frawley's reward will come with maybe some game time at 10 for Leinster

Update for those keen to lavish me with cash for rugby writing, or any other kind, the door is now open! After 34 year apprenticeship spread across Sunday Trib, Sunday Times and Sindo โ€“ picking up new words like learnings - itโ€™s time to take freelance flight. Bring it..
"Leinster continue to look very good with ball in hand and a lot more aggressive without it. There is a seek and destroy element to their defence now." @BrendanFanning savours a @ChampionsCup Final for the ages. rugbypass.com/plus/toulouse-โ€ฆ

Suggest you watch closing stages of GAA All Ireland series in hurling & football before declaring the best athletes in Irl are found in 'elite Dublin schools'

Shocking news re sudden death of Gary Halpin, mountain of a man loved by all who knew him. A legend of the game here his loss will be felt especially in @CCRoscrea but also far beyond Irl. Deepest condolences to his wife Carol and three children. RIP

A year well spent helping the big man put this together. My Norn Ironisms have improved along the way. Right on cue Sam appears on Tyrone radar. Wild craic all round!

Sad news re death of Limerick legend Brian Oโ€™Brien, Shannon hero, synonymous with turnaround of Irl team in 2000 when he took over as manager. Always great company Briano was a big physical man, as quick to drop the shoulder as shake your hand. Heโ€™ll be sadly missed by many. RIP

Brilliant analysis from @mrjamesob of the scarcely credible clusterfuck unfolding across the water bit.ly/2sSML7w

A decent game of rugby, fast and physical, insulted by the Mexican fucking wave

All four provs are losing out cos GAA is in every parish across the land! It has phenomenal reach and drawing power. I remember covering NZ tour in '92, seeing every other small town with a prominent rugby pitch. Just like GAA in Irl
