Today, I begin my fortnightly column for @thenews_intl. Honoured and grateful to be alternating Justice Babar Sattar’s old column space with @salmanAraja sb. For my first piece, I write about false accusations of blasphemy and the Aurat March.

Pakistan is a country whose very birth is testament to the pain of migration. Yet, today, as it forces out close to two million people - in one of the largest forced migrations in recent history - its people cheer it on. What a sordid injustice to our own history.

They are sending men, women, and children to Afghanistan in containers. Containers. As if they were some form of livestock, or industrial spare parts. What moral right do we have to criticise anyone else if this is how we treat those who came to us for refuge?
