- Today, there was a BYU Pride Night to kick off the school year. Instead of supporting the queer community at BYU, the students and community members felt inclined to protest the pride night. This is the “love” that is found in Mormonism, BYU, and Provo, UT.
00:00 - The fact that @BYU is legit one of the most UNSAFE campuses in the US for black, POC, and queer students. There is continual racism and queer phobia on our campus every single day. This is why the movement of the black menaces started at BYU. No one and nothing will stop us.
- This is happening across the country right now. 50+ schools. Power is found here. #strikeoutqueerphobia
00:00 - This type of behavior from BYU faculty is unacceptable
00:00 - Someone just sent this to us. Many problems with this. 1. Most of those people are members of the Black Menaces, they are just black students. Congrats on just finding a pic of black ppl. 2. We don’t deceive people, we ask questions, start conversations, and seek real change.
- Be a reformer. Do not be a passive participant in life. Be vocal, active, and persistent in every pursuit to create greater inclusivity and equity. Speak up. Be a menace 🖤
- WE ARE COMING AND WE ARE STRIKING OUT HOMOPHOBIA WITH @REAP_LGBTQ Follow @BlackMenaces @REAP_LGBTQ @RealSebastianSJ for protest updates
- We aren’t playing with y’all. We are striking out homophobia from Hawaii to DC! We are everywhere!
- BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, WHY ARE YOU COMPARING BLACK PEOPLE TO RATS……Someone just sent this to us. Many problems with this. 1. Most of those people are members of the Black Menaces, they are just black students. Congrats on just finding a pic of black ppl. 2. We don’t deceive people, we ask questions, start conversations, and seek real change.
- This type of behavior from BYU faculty is unacceptable pt 2.
