Reason No. 10,203 why the Stanley Cup is the greatest trophy in sports. The Cup is presented to the captain; every other trophy is handed to a rich owner who didn’t bleed and sweat to win it.

Saying “hockey moms are built different” makes this sound cute or acceptable. It isn’t. It’s disgusting. No wonder there’s a shortage of officials in all sports.

I heard so many "experts" in the stands lament the ability of officials during the past school year (and for more than 40 years of doing this). Here's your chance to put up or shut up; not holding my breath.

Classy moment. What high school kid thinks to thank the @MHSAA following a huge victory that puts his team in the state final? @brightonhockey1 goalie Levi Pennala does. Great goalie, great person. @MichHSHockey @KLAASports

I know there are larger issues in the world than winning or losing a state tournament, but I've come away from the last hour feeling sad and a bit empty for the lost opportunities. I've watched some of these kids for 4 years building toward this March.

Riley Hough of Hartland is your state Division 1 cross country champion. Ran about 14:49 to win a time trial vs. Hobbs Kessler of AA Skyline, who won the first section.

The addition of Felipe Alou fills a page of 1971 Topps. Only a set collector understands the joy. The black beauties are 89.2% complete now.

And Gerard Gallant. That’s the moment I stopped rooting for Vegas. They weren’t the lovable misfits anymore.
