I don't want to sound alarmist, but there is a serious attempt at a coup happening in the open right now in Brazil. The Federal Traffic Police along with state police and elements of the army are trying to suppress the vote across the country. I will continue to post updates
If Lula wins despite all the billions spent on buying votes, police shenanigans, disinformation and the politicized prosecution and jailing, it will be the greatest political comeback of all time.
RICHARLISON: "It is a basic right to have food on the table, healthcare, education and housing. I position myself in support and show my indignation for a minimum of dignity and equality for all the Brazilians that did not have the same type of luck as I did"
RICHARLISON: "É um direito básico ter comida na mesa, saúde, educação e moradia. Eu me posiciono e mostro a minha indignação pelo mínimo de dignidade e igualdade para todos os brasileiros que não tiveram a mesma sorte que eu." Craque dentro e fora do campo!
I leave South Africa today wearing my Bok jersey, I have never felt prouder to be South African. We are on the right side of history and let's hope the ICJ recognises this.
Lula has won this election, it might have been close and Bolsonaro will almost certainly contest the results, but he was in prison two years ago and Bolsonaro changed the constitution by buying off Congress and spent over 12 billion to stop this from happening. This is historic!
Here is the supposed order from the Bolsonaro supporting Director General of the Federal Traffic Police to ignore the Electoral Court and carry-out operations against public transport. This is the time to sound the alarm bells
I am a Jew living in London & because of the 200,000 strong anti-Jewish march about to take place, I don't feel comfortable going into the city centre on the weekend.
Its 2024 and parts of London have become no-go areas for Jews.
Godwin Law alert:
15 minutes into Jair Bolsonaro's interview on Jovem Pan, a far-right radio: Rodrigo Constantino compares the Brazilian Supreme Court to the Gestapo.
Quick though: Nobody else but the greatest Brazilian political mind of all time could have beaten Bolsonaro in this election and even then it is far too close to comfort. That's truly terrifying.
