Unbelievably reckless and irresponsible of police to name the man arrested for burning a Koran in Manchester.
He will be in the most serious danger for the rest of his life.
This isn't a victim statement. There is no 'victim'.
This is somebody enforcing his religious beliefs on the rest of society, whether we share them or not.
The police have also published his street address. @gmpolice have just ruined this man's life - having arrested him for something that is NOT a crime - he will now likely never be able to return home.

If you have a standard X account in the UK - presumably the vast majority of British users - you cannot see any protest footage that contains any violence tonight. Because of the Online Safety Act.

It gets worse.
With this guilty plea the British state has succeeded in instituting de facto blasphemy laws protecting Islam and the Koran.
Disastrous.
Burning a Koran is NOT a crime.
@SpeechUnion will remind the police of this as many times as it takes to get the message across.
Islam must have no special protection in British law.
🚨 Victory for free speech! A man arrested for burning a Koran in Bradford will face no charges—the FSU intervened, instructing a solicitor and covering our member’s legal fees. Blasphemy laws were abolished in 2008. He should never have been arrested.

Men who have burnt Korans in recent months have been variously held in police custody, been named by police, and even had their address published by police.
Suspected of forming a Hezbollah cell and you get released on bail.
🚨NEW: London's Counter Terrorism Command has arrested 2 men suspected of forming a Hezbollah cell
One of them is 39-y-old man from North London suspected of “preparing acts of terrorism” and funding terrorism
Both have been released on bail
If made law by @AngelaRayner, Labour’s definition of Islamophobia would criminalise:
- anyone who expresses any view that criticises “expressions of Muslimness”
- ex-Muslims who have escaped Islam and want to talk about why
- women who criticise the face veil or headscarf
In the first 48 hours of enforcement, the Online Safety Act has resulted in the censorship of posts:
- calling for single-sex spaces
- about the life of Richard the Lionheart
- showing an arrest at a protest in Leeds
- a speech by a Tory MP about grooming gangs
Online Safety Act, day 2.
Posts about the life of Richard the Lionheart are being censored because of the UK Government.
This is just the beginning of the insanity of this new law.
"A significant proportion" of live investigations into child sex abuse involve suspects "claiming asylum in the UK", according to Casey's official audit.
In other words, the British state is directly culpable for girls being raped because it has failed to protect our borders.
