Hey Jen, we’re also running out of iv catheters, iv tubing, syringes, etc. for sick babies due to the supply chain crisis. Is that funny too?
When NYT reporter Michael Shear asks about the ongoing supply chain crisis, Psaki jokes about “the tragedy of the treadmill that’s delayed”

Worked all day in an actual hospital. Plenty of beds, tons of ventilators, and the adult ER was almost empty the 3 times I walked by. Y’all please settle down. Thanks. Love you.

My kids pediatrician won’t see my son with a fever until he gets a negative covid pcr somewhere else (he said he doesn’t do covid testing because the reporting is too much trouble). The amount of brain damage covid has caused is honestly impressive.

There are actually some studies saying a fetus can’t feel pain until 24, 28, or 35 weeks. Fun right? Here’s a typical day at work in a level IV NICU where we take care of babies 21 weeks and up... (1/?)

Can anyone explain to me why I can go back to work in the NICU 5 days after having covid and parents of babies in the NICU have to wait 10 days after having covid?

A 19 week fetus practicing suckling. Suckling and swallowing movements starts as early as 13–16 weeks in the uterus.

My husband is trying to teach my 10 year old how to change a flat tire and she said she’ll just have her husband do it. I laughed.

So my 9 year old kept getting pushed on the roller skating rink by a larger girl. My daughter told her to stop twice. The 3rd time the girl pushed my daughter my daughter elbowed her twice pretty hard. The girl then left her alone. I told her I was proud of her. Bad parenting?

As a NICU nurse I’m always going on & on about how amazing these babies in the NICU are. I make threads about 21 week babies, 22 week babies, 23 week babies, babies with Dandy Walker syndrome, etc. But here’s another thread of amazing people: People who have survived abortion. ❤️

I could go on and on about the pain the extreme micropreemies feel just from diaper and position changes. But there’s also pain from chest tubes, endotracheal tubes, drains. They feel pain. We do all we can to prevent it. Do not tell me they don’t feel pain. (15/15)

It doesn’t get much better than when a brand new baby, who is supposed to have a major congenital heart defect, has an echocardiogram and there is no defect. Happiest parents I’ve ever seen. ❤️

PSA: You cannot be anti-abortion and also anti-birth control. That doesn’t make any damn sense.

Can I ask a favor of NICU parents? Every so often can you send a pic of your NICU graduate to the NICU for the nurses/docs. The NICU staff miss you and your babies. Maybe a pic of you holding your baby in the NICU and then a recent pic & a little note about how they’re doing.
