Remember to live in the moment from time to time. There’s nothing worse than spending years chasing nostalgia for “the good old days,” only to realize later that you were living in them the whole time.
Streamer fact:
Did you know that hitting the go live button makes you a streamer?
You are not defined by your follower count, how many sub points you have, or even the amount you bring in per month.
Stay strong and keep creating new content. Be the best you can be!
Streamer tips:
1) Take a mental health day if you’re not feeling well.
2) Make sure you eat, shower and are well rested before streaming.
3) If you hit your limit for energy then call the stream for the day. It hurts your community to see you push yourself past being tired.
Streamer tip:
Try to get out of the house once a week.
Streaming is 100% mental and if you plan on giving it your all you need to take of yourself.
Find local streamers or friends and grab a bite to eat. Life experiences are what create those stories you tell your viewers.
I don't know why I have to say this, but if you choose to support a creator, do it because you genuinely want to, not because you expect something in return.
Examples of Red Flag Behavior:
- Supporting cause you think they're single
- Supporting and expecting to be raided 24-7
DreamHack was such a vibe 💜 I can’t thank everyone enough for making it such a memorable weekend! Huge love to all the amazing creators who came out and the incredible staff who planned, built, and pulled off such an awesome production. You all made it special!
Streaming tip:
HIDE YOUR VIEWER COUNT.
Being bummed cause your numbers are lower than a past stream doesn’t make you a bad streamer.
People tune in for all kinds of reasons. Few examples doctors office, bus ride, between classes, certain game or seeing you
Keep your chin up.
Reminder:
Poor behavior on or off stream can have serious consequences for your brand. It can lead to losing your platform, sponsors, or removal from activations, as most brands prefer not to associate with individuals who create problems or extra work.
I wish there were a couple more days of DreamHack so I could have more time for one-on-one conversations without constantly putting out fires. Thank you to everyone who checked in on me and understood when I needed to step away for a bit, it really meant a lot.
After this last DreamHack, I’ve come to a startling realization: we’re all experts at gaming but total noobs at staying hydrated and getting a proper night’s sleep. At this point, I’m convinced caffeine is the only thing keeping us alive. ☠️
Biggest reasons people will be declined for DreamHack Atlanta:
