    Memorial Stadium was built in 1923 as a memorial to Illinois students who gave their lives for their country during World War I. 189 @Illinois_Alma students & alumni died in WWI. Their names are inscribed on 200 limestone columns which support the east & west sides of the stadium

    I understand the decision of the Big Ten but I am so disappointed for the members of the Fighting Illini Athletic Bands and Cheer Team, like so many other band and cheer students across the country, who have supported their men’s and women’s basketball teams this season.
