We have seen a steady climb of COVID-19 cases in Arizona over the last two weeks. This trend is concerning to us, and also correlates with a rise in cases that we are seeing in our hospital ICUs. (1/3)

Our ICUs are very busy caring for the sickest of the sick who are battling COVID-19. Since May 15, ventilated COVID-19 patients have quadrupled. Banner Health also recently reached capacity for patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) treatment. (2/3)

Mitigation measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19 are important as we continue our vaccination efforts. To date, less than 20% of Arizonans are fully vaccinated against the virus. This number needs to be much higher before we ease mitigation measures like masking. (1/5)

These trends are a good reminder for everyone in the community to exercise behaviors that are proven to prevent the spread of COVID-19. (3/3)

Arizona's daily #COVID19 case increase as of June 16, 2020 was 2,392, bringing our total positive cases to 39,097. Today, we're reporting an additional 25 deaths, bringing our total number of COVID-19 deaths to 1,219.

We are strongly opposed to any decision or consideration to relax existing mask mandates. Evidence shows the mandates are working to slow the spread of COVID-19. Rolling back mask and distancing mandates now will reverse gains in slowing the spread. (1/8)

Are you between 20 and 44 years old? 🙋‍♀️ 42% of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Arizona were people between the ages of 20 and 44. Stay home. Wear a mask. Practice social distancing. Wash your hands.

We’d also ask that businesses do the right thing by continuing to implement and enforce masking requirements within their establishments to protect their employees and patrons. (5/5)

We strongly encourage that Arizonans continue to mask in public, avoid large gatherings and get vaccinated as soon as possible. (4/5)

Masks play a vital role in preventing the spread of COVID-19. It is still important to wear masks in public while our vaccination rate is low in order to protect those who are at high risk and also those who have not had the opportunity to get their vaccine, yet. (2/5)

We all want to return to a more normal way of living, and the best way for us to do this is for everyone to get the COVID-19 vaccine so that we have a high level of herd immunity in Arizona. (3/5)

💜 if you're practicing social distancing. RT if you think people need a refresher.

Thank you to the @Suns and Go for visiting with pediatric patients at Banner Thunderbird Medical Center. One of Go's biggest fans, Charlotte, had been asking for him to come back and the Child Life team arranged for a surprise visit!
