I am on scene at Shock Trauma with Chief Delp and the injured officer. I am also in regular contact with BCoPD as attempts to apprehend this dangerous suspect are ongoing. My prayers, and all of Baltimore County’s, are with the officer, his colleagues and his loved ones tonight.

The advice of scientific experts is clear: face coverings work. Beginning Thursday, July 23 at 9 am, Baltimore County residents ages 2 and up will be required to wear face coverings in any indoor business, service, organization, or establishment that serves the general public.

It’s not too late for Governor Hogan to revisit this misguided decision, follow CDC advice, and empower Marylanders to cast their ballots in a way that does not jeopardize public health or overextend local boards of elections.
Opposition to Hogan’s plan has grown steadily louder since the Republican governor called for the November election to be held primarily in person, with all voting precincts open as well as early voting locations. bit.ly/3fILrg2

Baltimore County is deploying law enforcement personnel as part of the @MDSP team responding to support United States Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department. We will continue to make all resources available to support our nation’s capital in this pivotal moment.

Congressman Cummings believed in the power of government to improve lives, and he was a champion for those who needed a strong voice for them in Washington. He dedicated his life to the people of the Baltimore region, and we are better for his service. May he Rest In Peace.

I applaud Gov. @iamwesmoore for his efforts to release $69 million in critical state funds which will be used to train abortion care providers, combat climate change, implement a paid family leave program & help lay groundwork for a legal marijuana industry.
