- The Centennial Corridor is now open! You can access it from westbound Highway 58 heading towards the Westside Parkway, as well as from the eastbound Westside Parkway to Highway 58, Highway 99 and Ming Avenue.

- The Centennial Corridor flyover connector ramp from northbound Highway 99 to westbound Highway 58 is expected to open to traffic TOMORROW, March 5 at 5 a.m. Depending on weather, it could be pushed back a day to Wednesday, March 6.

- YOU'RE INVITED The City of Bakersfield, the Thomas Roads Improvement Program and Caltrans will be hosting a public ribbon cutting ceremony for the Centennial Corridor at 11 a.m. Feb. 9. The more than $600 million project will connect Highway 58 to the Westside Parkway and I-5.
- You may have noticed these signs around the City. Remember, panhandling in center medians is not only a traffic hazard, but it is not the most effective way to help individuals experiencing homelessness.
- The City's Rec. & Parks Dept. recently replaced the landscaping on medians on Rosedale Hwy. between Coffee and Calloway with xeriscaping. This pilot program is projected to save one MILLION gallons of water annually.
- Our Rec. & Parks Dept. has partnered with the @Team_BCSD to create an after-school flag football program for students in socioeconomically disadvantaged neighborhoods. Utilizing All Out Flag Football, the program started in Oct. and runs through this month.
