    Watching Carlos Martinez excel for the #stlcards tonight makes me think of his late friend whom he honors by wearing no. 18. Oscar Taveras would now be in the prime of his career - 28 years of age and in his eighth major league season. #OT18

    The #stlcards just paid Dexter Fowler $12.75 MM to go away so he wouldn't block their young outfielders. So a few days later, a national writer wants them to spend more money to sign 37-year old Brett Gardner, who would block those same youngsters - in a year with no DH. #smh

    I get that folks like to dream, but I admit that I am surprised at the number of people who feel Juan Soto is a real enough possibility for the #STLCards to be talking about it - when there are SO many obvious reasons against it, not the least of which is that he doesn't pitch.

    Alex Reyes joined the #stlcards organization in 2012, reached MLB in 2016 and now has qualified to pitch in his first-ever post-season. That perseverance made it fitting he closed out the clincher.

    Sign of #stlcards 2B Kolten Wong maturing and understanding better who he is as a player. Five years ago, he challenged Randal Grichuk to hit the most home runs. For 2020, he has challenged Harrison Bader for both of them to steal 30 bases.
