This represents the first time in the 25 seasons dating back to the BCS Era that an unbeaten P5 team was not given an opportunity to play for a national championship Games don't matter. It's not a playoff, it's an invitational. And ESPN protected its brand.

Consider that this FSU team just watched their leader get gruesomely injured and they responded - for him - by only winning. On the road, and at a neutral-site against a Top 15 team. FSU did everything it was supposed. And more. What kind of message does this send?

Probable Heisman Trophy winner Jayden Daniels says he thinks FSU was kept out of the CFI because of “ratings and viewership.” Like, let that sink in. This isn’t angry FSU fans saying it. It’s the top player in the country.
