Throwing a baseball, especially at high velocities, puts extreme levels of force/stress on both the shoulder and elbow. Don’t protect your arm by avoiding upper body training, protect your arm by getting STRONG in the upper body! @FlatgroundApp
Uncommitted ‘25 RHP @GianniRicci21 working up to 91.6mph with the fastball in his bullpen today. Making big mechanical improvements recently, velo climbing and working down in the zone. @FlatgroundApp

If you want to be a strong/powerful rotational athlete, first learn to resist rotation. These are great in a warmup, cool down, or as core work to do so. Don’t cheat yourself, external cue on back(cone) is 🔑 @FlatgroundApp@FlatgroundBats
Plyo drills can be a great way to improve efficiency. But when you do them, you shouldn’t be focusing on MAX EFFORT, try focusing on MAX EFFICIENCY.
Use your body to generate energy up the kinetic chain so the arm is just along for the ride, almost like a whip.
@FlatgroundApp
Thought you couldn’t train mechanics in the weight room? Think again! EVERY rep/throw/swing/sprint will either make you BETTER or make you WORSE. Attention to detail matters. Efficiency matters. Movement matters. Back hip rotation vs. drift/extension shown here
Commitment Alert! Big time congratulations to @AlexGayNY , who has committed to @LouisvilleBSB ! This dude spent EVERY DAY last offseason between his hitting and pitching coaches, and in the weight room. And has continued to grind throughout the season, no excuses, just hard work
Test week for @AlexGayNY _ before his next program. Why? Because weight has been absolutely flying for him lately. On 8/16/21 his projected max(VBT Test) was 372.6. Today the same test projected him at 531.3 👀. Here he is pulling 510 for 2! 💪⚾️⛽️

Pitching injuries have been on the rise, there are many risk factors including increasing velocity and spin. Volume(pitch count/frequency) also plays a major role in arm health.
Each state has their own rules. The rules in NYS allow HS pitchers to throw 210-250 pitches weekly,
