If you’re a member in England, vote YES so SAS doctors are recognised and valued properly. bma.org.uk/SASpay
🧵1/2 Despite holding talks with the Government and giving them a clear deadline to present us with an acceptable offer we could put to SAS doctors, we have received no such offer. We now have no option but to move to an indicative ballot on strike action: bma.org.uk/pay-and-contra…
SAS members in England have voted YES to give us a mandate for strike action.
We also have a pay offer from Government, which we'll put to members via referendum. Until the pay offer referendum is complete, we won't call strike action.
SAS doctors in England have spoken and delivered a decisive YES result in the indicative ballot.
The Government has written to us and offered to meet with us next week. We have accepted their offer and will continue to negotiate in good faith.

Now’s the time for us to make good on our promise and begin preparing for our first strike action.
While we prepare to strike, we’re continuing talks with Government and are hopeful a deal can still be reached.
