Tonight was overwhelming in the best way. Not only was I officially sworn in as a Trustee for Alvin ISD, but I was also nominated and elected to serve as Vice President of the Board. As I shared tonight, this moment did not begin in the boardroom. It began in countless

I interviewed a candidate for an asst. principal position last week. He had experience in the classroom, knew his data, admin internship, certs... He said he was in the AP pool in four districts, but no principal gave him a chance. Well, that all changes July 1st! #liftasyouclimb

Few know this; after my first year as an AP, my principal had me reassigned to a SPED teacher position, saying I wasn't cut out for the role. Well, the same principal watched me receive the @HAABSE3 AP of the year award three years later. Don't let anyone determine your destiny.

When I was in elementary school I wrote @BillClinton letters often. So much that on my 13th birthday I received a card from the White House. I promised myself I would visit the town that he was born in one day. Well, We’ve found Hope! #robersonroadtrip

Texas Education Agency, you had one job! So many students logged in with high hopes and confidence in their abilities - only to be met with another failed system. #STAAR

Someone asked me why I post or share jobs for other schools/districts. One reason is because my campus has been 100% staffed since the last day of school. The main reason is that all students, not just mine, deserve to walk into a building full of quality caring adults on day 1.

I’m excited for the next chapter in my career, as I will open the 2020-21 school year as a School Leader for @kipptexas. Over the past decade I’ve supported students as a teacher, coach, Tier-II leader, and now as a high school #Principal. What God has for you, it’s yours. #KTX

In 2017, I went on seven assistant principal interviews - only one was destined for me. In 2019, I went on two principal interviews - neither was God’s best for me. In 2020, I interviewed for one principal position, and it was the perfect position for me. #findGodsbest #yourenext

Never stop chasing your dreams. I once asked for an unpaid, unofficial “team lead” position within the SPED department I worked in. I was told I wasn’t ready for a leadership position. Well, 5 months later I left the school to become an AP, and in 5 years became a Principal. 🧗🏾

On Tuesday, one of our students attending summer school shared that she was having transportation issues and may have to miss. I told her to “find a way” because this was too important. Well, let me tell you about grit and tenacity. Wednesday, she came riding in on this beauty.

Recently, I was on a campus where an elementary student ran out of class, throwing a tantrum on the floor. I saw him in the hallway and asked him why he was upset. He replied, “The teacher is making me work on stuff I can't do!” I asked him why was it that he couldn't do the

Today launches the second week of year two as a high school principal. I can’t wait to see what this year brings. #pandemicprincipal

Today we interviewed a candidate for our college counselor position. I did not ask one question. Our panel of students led the way with their group questions and a mock 03 college advising session. Afterward, I listened in on their 10 min debrief. The STUDENTS chose their hire.
