- NEW: Police in Manchester say an officer’s behaviour was unacceptable and must never be repeated after video emerged of her dragging a rough sleeper across the ground and deliberately “stamping” on his stomach.
00:00 - NEW: Angela Rayner says she wants to restrict new council homes from being sold under the right to buy scheme. The policy has been blamed for contributing to homelessness. She also announced £10m to help rough sleepers through the winter.
- NEW: At least 25 people have died at a care home in Durham after an outbreak of Coronavirus. The death toll is thought to be the highest in a care home in Britain so far. Melbury Court, an 87 bed home owned by HC-One, provides a mix of residential, nursing and dementia care.

The man, a refugee from Sudan, told BBC News he’d had to go to hospital. “I was telling her I need to sleep. But she stamped on my stomach. It caused me problems. In the following hours I had blood in my urine.”
- Years ago a BBC manager took me aside and told me that if I wanted a career in broadcasting, I should change & soften my Hebridean accent. I thought long about it, but ultimately decided my accent is a key part of who I am.

- Of the 27 children who started reception last September, 8 were in nappies. The primary school is also having to teach some children Makaton, a basic form of sign language as some pupils can't say basic sentences such as "Can I go to the toilet?"Schools are changing. About 10% of the 7000 pupils at the Learning Community Trust, a multi academy trust, need welfare support.
