    Northern Ireland's Executive has met for the first time in two years. The Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, and Taoiseach, Leo Varadkar, were at Stormont today to mark the occasion and meet with the new First Minister, Michelle O'Neill, and Deputy First Minister, Emma Little-Pengelly

    Little bit of news: I’ve taken up the role of Political Correspondent for BBC News NI, having spent the past 3 years as its Political Reporter. Brexit, elections, Stormont returning and a pandemic have kept me busy. I imagine the next three years will be just as eventful!

    Big news - GCSE results in NI will be *solely based on grades provided by teachers*, the education minister has said. He says he made the decision because there was no prior performance data unlike with A-levels.

    Here’s how the NI Secretary Julian Smith spent part of his Friday evening- holding a reception for survivors of historical institutional abuse.. he managed to resolve their pleas for compensation within months of taking office & has kept in close contact with them since
