An updated #MSWL thread! In general, Iโ€™m looking for Adult, YA, & MG fiction. I'm drawn to romance, horror, lower SFF, and genre blending & am always looking for more diverse perspectives. I am NOT right for erotica, non-fic, lit fic, or lower MG/chap books. Specifics below.

Our dog knows way too many phrases now, so my husband and I have resorted to talking like Victorian nobility to get anything by him. "Have you taken the dog on a brisk adventure recently? Would you escort the canine to the backyard, forthwith? Has he supped yet?"

Being a writer is 20% Googling certain words to make sure they mean what you think they mean, 10% looking up baby names, 15% removing the word "just" from your MS, and 55% cleaning your house so you don't actually have to write.

Me, cradling a book written by someone on Twitter: my friend's book ๐Ÿฅบ๐Ÿ’– Them: but you've never even talked to that person-- Me: FRIEND'S!!! BOOK!!!!

Them: Oh! You're an author! You must know so much about writing and grammar and stuff!? Me, who places commas based on vibes and starts a new paragraph when there's not enough white space on the page: y-yes.

I strongly urge you never to ask a writer "what's the worst that could happen?" Because coming up with an answer to that question is basically our job and, not to brag, but we're exceptionally good at it.

As requested (you know who you are). Keanu Reeves as dogs.

My husband just said, out of the blue, "you know what would make a good Christmas thriller title? GOLD, FRANKINCENSE, AND MURDER" and then gave it the tagline: "the only present he wants this year is the truth" and wow I guess we're in the film industry now.

My favorite thing about writer twitter is being able to flail wildly in the bookstore and scream "THE PERSON WHO WROTE THAT BOOK LIKED ONE OF MY TWEETS ONCE; I HAD A 10 SECOND CONVERSATION ABOUT PLANTS WITH THAT AUTHOR; I DM-ED THAT WRITER AND THEY DM-ED ME BACK!"

I hope you're aware that if you have a published book, and you've even vaguely acknowledged me on Twitter, I tell everyone I know that we're friends as I pass your book in the store. I don't make the rules ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿผโ€โ™€๏ธ

When someone asks how far along I am in my book... Me: I'm about 2/3 of the way through the self doubt phase. Should be onto crippling fear of rejection soon... #amwriting #amediting #writerslife

How to be a writer: Write words. Panic, because they're garbage. Rewrite words. Fall into a pit of extestential dread. Rise from the ashes. Write more. Congrats. You're a writer. #amwriting #writerslife #amediting

Three steps to becoming an #author: 1. Hoard coffee, you'll be needing it. 2. Forget about being everyone's friend. Your #writing will offend somebody. 3. #Write, all the time, everyday, and what you love. Secret step number 4: Never give up. #amwriting #writerslife

I am beyond thrilled to announce that I'm now represented by the WONDERFUL @UweStenderPhD. I couldn't be prouder to be a part of team @triadaus. Still feels a bit surreal that my dream agency & my dream agent fell in love with my dorky YA romance. How is this real life? ๐Ÿ˜ญ๐Ÿ’–
