The World Bank has ranked the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) as one of two national audit offices in the world that are enjoying full independence to carry out their audit mandates in their respective countries.
President Cyril Ramaphosa today announced the appointment of Tsakani Maluleke as South Africa’s new auditor-general (AG), making her the first woman to hold this position in the supreme audit institution’s history.
Auditor-General Tsakani Maluleke has issued the first certificate of debt (CoD) since the Public Audit Act’s (PAA) extended powers came into effect in April 2019.
