So where are we on the H-1B ban. In the last 24 hours:
We have Lutnick in the presser saying the fee will be each year per person.
The text of the proclamation says it is an entry ban starting Sunday at midnight.
@RapidResponse47 put out a tweet that the ban will only impact
To be clear:
1.) This is NOT an annual fee. It’s a one-time fee that applies only to the petition.
2.) Those who already hold H-1B visas and are currently outside of the country right now will NOT be charged $100,000 to re-enter.

The reason it is disproportionately India and China is the insane #greencardbacklog. Indian and Chinese nationals have to keep renewing their #H1B since they can’t get a green card yet due to country caps.

.@StateDept that is 100% fake news. You revoked visas for victims of crime but they showed up in NCIC. You revoked visas for dismissed and non prosecuted crimes. But that’s okay, we will add this tweet to our class action to show you still haven’t learned from the many court
Every single student visa revoked under the Trump Administration has happened because the individual has either broken the law or expressed support for terrorism while in the United States.
