- On This Day: Feb 18th in 2001 we lost Dale Earnhardt. This is a picture of Dale on pit road just before they put the window net up. It was taken by Stan Gilliland who just happened to be the last photographer to leave pit road. Sad day for all of us. #4ever3
- Broke his HANS Device, cracked the foam in his helmet, and bent the steering wheel but we’ll wait to throw the caution because we need the race to finish before it rains.
