- Jacob deGrom's season is officially in the books. There's no longer reason to bring him back on short rest. His final start: 8 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 10 K. His season: 217 IP, 1.70 ERA, 269 K. It was, by any stretch, one of the best seasons by a pitcher in modern MLB history.
- For those asking, yes, new Mets reliever Richard Lovelady has requested to go by his nickname Dicky. So it will be Dicky Lovelady from here on out.
- The real Grimace is back at Citi Field today, holding a miniature pumpkin, and the fake Grimaces in the crowd are going nuts. (I can't believe this is a real thing I just tweeted during a Mets playoff game.)
- The Mets' win-or-go-home Wild Card Game drew 39,241 fans, the lowest of the three games at Citi Field. It was not a sellout.
- Edwin Díaz says he purposely did not jump around during the Mets' on-field celebration because... well, you know.

- Sometimes, baseball can be cruel. The Mets just loaded the bases for Pete Alonso, who absolutely smoked a 115.9 mph rocket... into Javier Sanoja's glove. It was the hardest-hit ball by any Met this season.
