- My boss asked "why isn't soccer as popular in America as other sports?" and I blew her mind with "Because USA television hasn't figured out how to sell ads during a soccer game, compared to baseball or football." And she just sat there in silence for several seconds processing.

- This "MLS is afraid" or "more minutes for depth players!" is all a misdirection. The bottom line is, well, the bottom line. MLS can't monetize the Open Cup like they can every other time they kick a ball. They HATE anyone else making any money off soccer in America.
