My book Bleeding for Jesus: John Smyth and the Cult of Iwerne Camps: The Scandal That Shook the Church of England is now available at tinyurl.com/bleeding4Jesus.
It probably wouldn’t make a good Christmas present!
On an average day in the UK:
3,700 are forced to visit a food bank.
5,400 suffer domestic violence.
4,750 sleep rough on the streets.
4 migrants arrive in boats across the Channel.
Guess which one the government is calling a “crisis”?
My wife is immunosuppressed. She can’t afford to catch Covid, so please wear a face mask if you meet her.
What’s that? You don’t think you would recognise my wife?
Oh, then you’d better wear one anyway, just in case.
That’s how it works.
Can I suggest that Christians and others who are available gather outside their local mosque during Friday prayers today (about 12-1) to stand guard over our Muslim friends while they pray?
If you have any respect or affection for Queen Elizabeth you will be delighted - as I’m sure she would have been - that when her grandson was grieving her loss, he had someone to hold his hand.
I’ve worked for the BBC for 35 yrs and made 100s of live broadcasts.
I believe the government is pursuing an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the '30s.
I wait to hear from Tim Davie.
Woman serving in a cafe said “Sorry about your weight.”
I said “Well I am trying to lose a few pounds.”
Then realised she was apologising for the length of the queue.
The Church of England has suspended four junior clergy while they investigate whether they should have done more about their knowledge of abuser John Smyth.
None of the ten bishops who knew has been suspended. Not. One.
In my church this morning we stood and prayed for our Muslim brothers and sisters in Manchester, in Christchurch and around the world.
Shalom. Salaam. Peace
