- Very cool demonstration of the mechanical modes of a square plate excited by a violin bow. The nodes of the standing waves are indicated by rice piling up in the regions of small amplitude of the mechanical vibrations. An experiment to present in my lecture @ETH_physics @ETH_en .
- Congratulations to the 2022 #NobelPrize winners in #Physics. Very exciting to see the prize go to #quantum #science this year with Alain Aspect @InstitutOptique @UnivParisSaclay @CNRS, John Clauser @Caltech and Anton Zeilinger @iqoqivienna @univienna @oeaw.
- Do you have a rectangular fridge? We have one. We use it for cooling #quantum stuff down to close to the absolute zero of temperature at -273.15 deg C. Looking cool, I think. Any questions?
