    The voters of New York State have spoken and they have elected a clear Democratic majority to the State Senate. While the results of some elections are still being determined, at least 32 Senate Democratic Conference members have already won election tonight.

    Today, we again rose to our leadership responsibilities and ended the ongoing distraction of the Justice Hector LaSalle nomination. We have a state to run. This court case would’ve dragged on for months and stymied our judicial system. It was time to put this matter to rest.

    Yesterday, I was honored to meet with TN State Rep. @Justinjpearson, who was one of two Black men removed from the legislature for protesting gun violence. After being reinstated, he continues to stand up to discriminatory & anti-democratic attacks. We were proud to host him!

    Today, we passed legislation restoring the right for all qualified drivers to obtain drivers licenses regardless of immigration status. By passing this needed legislation, we are growing our economy while at the same time making our roads safer. #GreenLightNY

    The voters have spoken, and we again have 32 Democrats in the State Senate. These electoral wins are part of the ‘blue wave’ sweeping our state and nation which will help even more Senate Democratic candidates win in the upcoming General Election.
