- Jamaica’s dominance in the women’s 100m at the Olympics is mind-blowing. 10 of the 12 medals won since 2008 and every single gold since then have been won by Jamaicans. 16 of 30 medals since 1984 have also went to Jamaican women. DOMINATE
- Wow! Oblique Seville drops a big 9.86 seconds personal best in the 100m at the Jubilee Series. That makes him the 6th fastest Jamaican in history. Feels he didn’t execute well and that there is more to come.
- Elaine untouchable, Shelly still defying the odds, Shericka still learning the event… Briana in the wings, Ashanti, Kemba, Ackera, Kevona, Claytons to come!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩. Jamaica’s female sprinting is looked damn good for years to come.
- Jamaica secures another historic silver medal as Shanieka Ricketts finishes second in the Triple Jump. No other Jamaican - male or female, had medaled in the event at the Olympic Games.
- I can now CONFIRM that there has been NO protest filed against the Jamaicans in the women’s 4x100m THE RESULT WILL STAND I just received confirmation from the World Athletics delegate and a TIC official here. Sorry for the stress. HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY JAMAICA!! #Tokyo2020
- 41.02… Jamaica takes the women’s 4x100m in a national record. Elaine Thompson Herah gets her third gold medal of these Games, SFP her 8th overall. Briana’s gets her first taste. She’s the future. Shericka gets her redemption.
- Confirmed: Briana Williams has parted ways with Ato Boldon and will now be coached by Gregory Little and Michael Frater at Titans Track Club
- Nike can throw some more of the money towards the Jamaicans now
- US sprint hurdler Brianna McNeal will have to serve a 5 year ban for “tampering or attempted tampering with any part of Doping Control” after a CAS ruling today. McNeal’s appeal was dismissed by the panel and all performances between 13/02/2020 and 14/08/2020 disqualified.
- Elaine Thompson Herah is on a level never before witnessed in women sprinting. 10.54, 10.61, 10.64, 10.65, all in the same season! AMAZING! No woman has gone below 10.70 seconds more than she has… frightening to think that there’s perhaps more to come in the future.
- 10.78s for Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce who ends her season in style at the Bellinzona meet in Switzerland. Amazingly, SFP has gone sub-11 seconds in 13 consecutive 100m races. The last time she ran 11.00 or slower was in May! Another great season for the great sprinter ⭐️
- Elaine Thompson Herah: “To come back with a PB after the championships is amazing. I haven't run that fast in 5 yrs. It means a lot to me because my job is to inspire a generation. I have more races so I don't get too excited, too carried away. I have to continue doing the job.”
- Derron Herah, the husband of Elaine Thompson Herah, is expected to take over coaching duties for the two-time double Olympic sprint champion after her intended split from MVP. Derron is the male sprint coach at St Jago high and was a member of the Cameron Blazers setup.
