With many immigrant communities in the USA likely to want to come together to watch the World Cup, and millions of fans travelling from all over the world, ICE and other agencies pose a chilling threat to people living in the US as well as those travelling to see a game.
$The tournament hasn\u2019t even started and people are being dehumanised.$

Iran’s human rights and impunity crisis requires urgent and sustained diplomatic international action to prevent further atrocity crimes by the authorities.

Since 28 February 2026, the authorities have arbitrarily executed at least 39 individuals on politically motivated charges following torture-tainted grossly unfair trials. 2/3
$Mass arbitrary arrests targeted children, students, teachers, journalists, lawyers, ethnic minorities, labour activists, and grieving families seeking justice.\n\nOfficials labelled detainees \u201Ctraitors\u201D and \u201Cterrorists\u201D for peaceful expression, or documenting human rights abuses.$
$Authorities introduced \u201CSaham,\u201D a digital system identifying and seizing assets belonging to alleged \u201Cenemy agents.\u201D \n\nMore than 750 individuals reportedly had bank accounts, properties, and financial holdings confiscated.$
$Human rights defenders and lawyers disappeared after arbitrary arrests, with families denied information about their whereabouts. \n\nAmnesty documented torture including mock executions, beatings, solitary confinement and food deprivation.$
$At least 39 political executions occurred after torture-tainted sham trials since the unlawful military strikes by the US and Israel in February 2026.\n\nProtesters, dissidents and alleged spies faced rushed prosecutions under \u201Cwartime conditions\u201D.$

Iranian authorities are exploiting the current crisis to further erode the human rights of people in Iran. People in Iran are already suffering from the devastating consequences of unlawful air strikes by US and Israeli forces, as well as decades of crimes under international
$Iranian authorities are using \u201Cwartime conditions\u201D to intensify repression, arresting over 6,000 people: journalists, lawyers, minorities and dissidents. \n\nMany face unfair trials, enforced disappearances, torture, executions, \nand severe prison sentences nationwide.$
$Authorities imposed an 88-day internet blackout, isolating over 90 million people from information.\n\nOnline activity became criminalized as \u201Cespionage,\u201D punishable by death. Censorship, surveillance and restrictions have devastated livelihoods.$
$Security forces threatened citizens through text messages warning against VPNs, satellite internet, sharing strike footage, or contacting foreign media.\n\nAuthorities accused ordinary users of collaborating with enemies, risking arrest, imprisonment, or execution.$

🚨 The Milburn Review must be a wake-up call. Too many young people are locked out of work. And those who do have jobs still can’t afford the basics. No one should be pushed into poverty because decent-paying jobs don’t exist. We need a root-and-branch reform of the
