- All 999 calls are clinically triaged based on the patient’s condition. Obviously the nature and location of other calls are not known to people calling 999, but we ensure that the nearest and most appropriate response is dispatched, with the most urgent calls prioritised.

- If you or your family feel unwell and need some care, consider all the options. Only call 112 or 999 in cases of real emergency but do call us if you need us.

- When calling 999 in an emergency, help us to speed up the process by answering some quick questions and following all instructions from our call takers. Answering questions does not slow down the help you need, but helps us get the information we need to prioritise your call.
- Call 999 immediately and ask for an ambulance if your child becomes unresponsive when choking. The emergency calltaker will guide you through how to give CPR. If you see the object during CPR, remove it - never place your fingers in the mouth if you can't see the object.

- I gcás an-chuid gnáththinnis laethúla, amhail slaghdán nó casacht, is féidir iad a chóireáil sa bhaile. Glaoigh ar 112 nó 999 má cheapann tú go bhfuil taom croí nó stróc ag teacht ort féin nó ar dhuine eile, nó go bhfuil duine éigin go dona tinn nó gortaithe nó i mbaol báis.
- Our crew attended a call last week in Kerry, and even made sure the four legged family member, Teddy, got to check everything was okay before they left. Thanks for sharing this adorable picture with us, Niamh!
